Animal Spirit Guides
Animal Spirit Guides Psychic Sylvia Browne, World-renowned Psychic Sylvia Browne pictures There are animal spirit guides in almost every indigenous culture from the Nordic to the Celtic to the North American Indian civilizations. Animal spirit guides are also channeled in cultures in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the South Americas.

The idea is that these animal spirit guides can help guide us on vision quests and help heal us and give us guidance. The energies that they offer are primal, basic, and educate us about our own drives and our purpose in life.

In many cultures, it is the animal that threatens you or frightens you that becomes your spirit guide. In some cases, it is the animal that bites you or that you kill and wear somewhere on your body that qualifies as a guide.

The modern individual does not have to be so primal about choosing a spirit guide. It may simply be about seeing the animal in a zoo or on television or being struck by the way a bird, butterfly, or cat crosses our path.

There are thousands of spirit guides that you can channel for guidance, protection, and spiritual solace. Here are an example of just a few of them and what they can mean.

The Bee – A symbol of prosperity, duty, and feminine power.

The Cat – A universal symbol of healing, as in “the cat has nine lives,” and in some cultures connections to the other world or alien worlds.

The Coyote – A North American Indian symbol for channeling our masculine, wild hunter side.

The Crane – An Asian symbol of fidelity, longevity, and connections as well as guidance from dead ancestors.

The Eagle – In many cultures, this majestic bird helps us to understand the cycles of time and honor the dead.

The Elephant – In Africa, this is a creature that symbolizes family, memory, love and honoring ancestors.

The Cougar – A North American Indian spirit guide about using power wisely.

The Hummingbird – They teach us how to fight, as they are very violent little birds. They also symbolize detachment from emotions and artistic excellence.

The Jaguar – A Mayan symbol for protection, survival, good health, and being grounded to the earth.

The Otter – A North American Indian spirit guide for channeling feminine wisdom, peace and happiness.

The Rabbit – A spirit guide that relates to Celtic fertility goddesses and helps us stay in touch with feminine energies.

The Shark – An animal that helps guide us through situations where we are required to be ruthless because our survival is at stake.

The Snake – A spirit guide that teaches us about psychological transformation and helps us deal with issues of sexuality.

The Spider – In Greek mythology, it symbolizes the Goddess Athena and how she weaves her stories. The spider is channeled as spirit guide for the healing of psychological problems.

The Swan – A universal symbol for the evolution and awakening of the true self.

It is also common to have more than one spirit guide during one’s lifetime and a new guide may appeal to us depending on the circumstances.

Part of this message is for Florence; Florence, I speak for myself, although I know others feel the same as I do, but when you post your comments, I am unable to read and even understand exactly what you are trying to say. Please don't take this personally, I'm only trying to help you. There are a few suggestions that you might consider before posting...First create your comments in a Word Doc. Then after you finish typing, you can then click on spell check to review you document for errors, spaces, & mis-spelled words. After that is complete, then using your mouse, you can highlight the entire message, & right click, then click copy, and release the mouse and then take your mouse into the box where you normally post your messages, and then right click on the mouse and click under paste. This will help you and others as well. I love reading peoples comments, and each of us have very valid questions or expressing our experiences, & even gaining knowledge from each other. I hope this helps you, beacause I believe that you have very important experiences that you are trying to share with the rest of us, but since we can't read or understand fully what your message is about, I'm afraid many readers may skip your message and go on to the next one out of frustration. Good Luck with my suggestions. Now about animals as being our spirit guides, I'm also one who unconditionally loves and cares about many animals. There are to many to choose from that are my favorites. I have always had a deep admiration and connection with dogs. I respect their divinity, unconditional love and pure heart. All animals are given to us for a purpose in our life, whether it is for healing, guidance, protection and/or many other purposes in life. The best part about our animals is that we get to love them, care for them, enjoy them, learn from them here on earth as well as on the other side when our life on earth is over. To all of you who share the same oneness with our beloved animals and pets, may your animals and pets bring you an eternity of peace and happiness. To all of those who do not cherish and are not so close to animals, I say and I pray to you, please, please allow the spirit of an animal to touch your heart, for you will find that animals you come in contact with, is actually a powerful magnent full of energy that is connected to your soul, however you are the one who has to allow them in. May God Bless all who reads this. Tasha

I love all animals, but there are a few that I feel specialy close to. Raccoons are close to my heart, I raise and release orphans, all vaccinated when they are released. Horses are another animal I am specially close to, and I like to work with ones that have been abused. I am doing that at the moment, with a lot of success. My home and my heart are lost without animals in them. An umbrella cockatoo is a very loud and loved member of my family, as well as 2 cats, A Rot and a ferret. I have a horse, take care of 2 others and in a month or so will be working with a fourth. I wouldn't have the slightest idea which one would be my spirit guide but would bet that ia=have one or more of the animal spirit guides, wish I knew which ones they were.

I guess I have several guides then. Geese & seagulls always get my attention, as well as parots (in the bird world). In the animal world, cats, dogs, rabbits, gerbles, hampsters, guinie pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, llamas, & horses are all animals I love. I killed a bee once & felt bad afterward, even though it stung me first, plus I've always had a strange relationship with them. I like them, as long as they don't sting. Lol. As far as sea creatures, the sea horse, the manatee, the shark, & the stingray have always attracted me. I actually got to pet a stingray at the Mall of America & it was an awesome feeling. Dolphins are also creatures I love, have always wanted to swim with them. So either I have several animal guides in several categories, or they all just attract me for some reason.

My family & friends KNOW that I die for animals; I love and raised farm animals and at one point was raising goats. I miss that part of my live, feel empty if I am not sorrounded by animals. What are your suggestions to find out which animal(S)are our spirit guides. I LOVED tham all. I am allergic to cats so we only have dogs and I am horrified by rats and snakes to the point I cannot watch them on tv or see them on magazines. I love your articles and read them all, now I am waiting for some of Sylvia's books that I ordered. Thank you!

I am wondering why the lion or wolf is not listed above. I am sure that my animal spirit guide is either a wolf or a lion. It would be great if you would kindly list these two animals. Thanks Sylvia.

I would love to know what my animal spirit guide is. Can anyone help. I've always loved various animals. I have 5 cats and guppies but growing up we had dogs, cats (sort of-they were around but not really ours), a bird, a turtle, a horse, a duck, rabbits, my parents had chickens, turkeys.... no, we didnt have a farm. I don't like snakes. I hope i don't have a snake guide. Kathy
