Children's Dreams: Do You Listen?
Listen to Your Child's Dreams by Sylvia Browne

What is your first thought when your child wakes up? You may be thinking about their upcoming day at school. But before you start the day, your child may need to talk about their dreams from the previous night. Do you listen to your child’s dreams?

In most homes, children don’t mention their dreams often. Maybe a certain dream experience stands out over the past several months for your child. When children dream, their “spirit minds” are let loose while they sleep. Many children have experiences of astral travel, visiting Home, and even connecting with those from The Other Side in dreams.

Before we can learn how to interpret dreams, we must understand children’s dreams. Children dream in different levels as they age. Young children – at 3 or 4 years of age – will never include themselves in their dreams. These young children simply don’t have a sense of identity just yet. Researchers discovered that children will not include strangers in their dreams until the age of six. Children are very active when they sleep and tend to gravitate to the familiar.

By about 10 or 12, most children lose their conscious connection to the spirit world. This is usually because they have been made to feel silly or inappropriate about this. Some children may have even been accused of lying if they mention a spirit in a dream.

To help your children with their dreams and to understand how to interpret their dreams, encourage children to talk about them. Simply saying to your child, “What did you dream about?” every morning is a great way to begin this conversation. Your child will tell you all about their dream. Keeping your child’s dreams written down in a notebook can help you track your child’s dream life.

I meet some parents that don’t like to ask questions about their children’s dreams – and that’s a real shame. These parents have various reasons for not asking. Some parents simply don’t want to “push” their children for information. Other parents don’t want to be disappointed if the child doesn’t remember a lot of information or if the dream isn’t interesting.

You know that our dreams are full of valuable information. We can have “wish” dreams, “release” dreams and “prophetic” dreams – just to name a few. When you were a child, wouldn’t it have been helpful if someone had encouraged you to talk about your dreams? Having someone to talk about your dreams with, and help you understand them, can be so valuable to anyone – especially a child. Listen to your child’s dreams – they may amaze and surprise you!

Love always,

Sylvia Browne

P.S. Our dreams are so valuable to us. They provide us with a window to the subconscious, a chance to travel astrally, and a place to express and release emotions. Your child dreams just as vividly as you do. My book, Book of Dreams, discusses children’s dreams as well as the many types of dreams you can have. Learn how your dream life affects your waking hours!

Hi Silvia.... I have always had issues with my faith but i feel it's getting better now by listening to u talk and reading your books. But lately my 9 year old daughter claims that she see's a man in our house(she even drew a detailed picture of him) and most recently saw a woman named Wendy in her dreams, than she appeared to her in my backyard. We are trying to explain to her it's a gift from god but she is scared and cries alot when this happens!! I am lost at what to do... i have told the ghost or spirit to leave my daughter alone and go to the light and that he or she is dead and they can move on now but nothing doing . Could u please help us ? I feel really bad because this is ll new to all of us as a family. Thank u for what u do for everyone it is greatly appreciated!!!!

hello sylvia brown my name is Victoria Nelson. I'm 18 years old and I would just like to ask you a couple of Questions about myself. Am I ever going to choose between my Ex-boyfriends? Or am I going to be alone for the rest of my life with my daughter?

Dear Sylvia, I truly Love you and all that you do. I have three daughters. In retrospect, Hailli was three at the time, used to say "remember when I was your mom?" and she used to tell me that she chose me for a mom. She used to hear voices in her room at bedtime, I did hear voices once and checked outside, to see if someone was there. Once she came running in the house to ask me if I had seen that angel that helped break her fall from a tree she had climbed. Leeda and I were driving home, she in her car seat (not even a mile from where we live) asked me if she had died there. Alexa told she she chose me as a mom. Are my daughters indigo children? Thank you. Tammy E from Michigan 2-11-64

One thing you should not do is belittle them for things that they dreamed about, like if they dream of doing things like burning down school or things like that. One thing about dreams, is that they are simply not subject to the censorship that keeps our conscious minds in check.
